One of the main reasons that Colombia is such a nice country to visit is the people of Colombia. You will find them friendly, helpful, easy going and relaxed!

With over 36 million citizens, Colombia has the second largest population in South America after Brazil. The standard of education is very high in Colombia and you can find good conversation everywhere. While Spanish is the official language, many of the middle and upper class speak some to perfect English. The good news is that the Colombian Spanish is among the clearest and easiest to understand in the world.

The Colombian population consists of the following ethnic groups:
58 % Mestizos, a mixture of European and Native American race
20% of unmixed European race
14% Mulatto, a mixture of black and European race
4% Black
3% mixed black-Native Americans
1% of unmixed Native Americans
